Obituary for Terrence Thion “Marco Polo” Coler
Terrence Thion “Marco Polo” Coler, age 60, a native and resident of Dallas, Texas, was born on
December 5, 1965, and passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2026. He was raised in South Oak
Cliff, where he built lifelong connections and memories.
A viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Prepared Place Funeral Home. At 1:00
p.m., family and friends will be given an opportunity to share words, reflections, and stories of
encouragement. Following these expressions, Terrence will be transported to Antioch Park
Cemetery in Grand Prairie, Texas, for final rites.
Terrence is survived by his son, Terrence Coler Jr., and grandson, Terrence Coler III, both of
Chicago, Illinois; and his father, Clifford Tardieff of Thibodaux, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Coler Vaden; his grandparents, William and
Mary Coler; and Joseph and Harriett Scott Tardieff.
Terrence was a man of faith and a devoted Baptist. He proudly served his country as a veteran of
the United States Army (National Guard). A graduate of South Oak Cliff High School, Class of
1983, he was well known for his talent as a standout soccer player. In 1982, he was recognized
by his peers as the “Best Dressed Male,” a reflection of his confidence and unique sense of style.
