Today we pause with heavy hearts,
As grief and love both play their parts.
For though your earthly journey is through,
The love you gave remains so true.
Seventy precious years were shared,
Of moments lived and ways you cared.
Through joy and sorrow, gain and loss,
You walked with strength and bore your cross.
Mr. Steve, your presence brought such light,
A steady hand, a heart so bright.
Your words could comfort, calm, and heal,
Your love was something we could feel.
And though the silence now feels deep,
And tears arrive when memories speak,
We hold close every laugh, each smile,
Each conversation, every mile.
Our hearts will forever long for you,
For love like yours was pure and true.
There’s now an empty place we bear,
A sacred absence everywhere.
Yet even in this painful goodbye,
We find our hope beyond the sky.
For death may separate for a season’s span,
But it cannot destroy God’s eternal plan.
We cherish the memories time cannot erase,
Your kindness, wisdom, and gentle grace.
And though we cannot hold your hand today,
In our hearts, you will forever stay.
We will speak your name with honor and pride,
Keeping your legacy alive inside.
For those we love never truly depart—
They live forever within the heart.
So rest now, Steve, from labor and pain,
Until we meet in glory again.
And until that great reunion day,
Your memory will never fade away.
Forever loved.
Forever missed.
Forever cherished.
