Paul Schulte Life's Reflections:
Paul Franklin Schulte was born on September 18, 1950, in Reed City, Michigan (named after the doctor who delivered him) to Ralph Leo Schulte and Evelyn L. (Jackie) Schulte. (All of his
siblings Dennis, Sue, and Johnny also born in Reed City Michigan).
He and his family moved to Meridian Mississippi when he was 2.....when he was 3 they moved
to Norman Oklahoma.....when he was 4 they moved back to Reed City.....when he was 6 they
moved to Dallas Texas.....when he was 7 they moved to Mesquite, Texas. He attended Bishop
Lynch Catholic High School his freshman year.....went to Mesquite High School his sophomore
year. Then in 1967, the family moved to Kokomo, Indiana and he went to Kokomo HS his junior
and senior years – graduating from Kokomo HS in 1969.
Paul joined the U.S. Navy on January 9, 1970, as a radio operator – was stationed on MidWay Island for
a year then went to Stockton California, and got out on March 27, 1973.....he went back to work at
PPG after coming home from the Navy.
In late 1974 moved to Eureka California and attended The College of the Redwoods.
He returned to Kokomo after the death of his father in 1977 and went to work at Swartout until
1978. He moved to Seattle in late 1978 until 1984, then moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, and
began truck driving for North American Van Lines. He drove for several trucking companies until
1993.
He married Sherry Austin on May 15, 1992 – they were together for over 30 years.
He went to work for Chrysler on February 9, 1998, and worked there until he retired on February 28,
2017.
Paul’s main love was music history...had a huge collection of albums that he’d been collecting
since the 1960’s. He often made special combinations CD’s for people’s birthdays and special
events.....it was his specialty.
He was a very devoted Uncle to all of his nieces and nephews...always remembered their
birthdays and they all adored him. He had a huge, generous heart and always said he “loved
every human being on this planet” didn’t always like everyone but loved their spirits.
He is survived by: his wife: Sherry Schulte, sister and brother-in-law, Susan & Rick Tanner.
He was preceded in death by his Mother and Father, oldest brother Dennis, older brother
Johnny, & sister-in-law Judy Dwyer Schulte.
