Hernando Palmer Obituary

Hernando Mendoza Palmer was born on January 28, 1963 to the parents of Azzie Palmer (who precedes him in death) and Artra Hughes. He was raised by his “Bonus” father, Elder Robert Buckley (who also precedes him in death). Mr. Palmer was born in Childress Texas and raised in Dallas Texas where he attended South Oak Cliff High School and graduated with Honors in the class of 1981. Mr. Palmer became known for his athletic ability and flamboyant personality, Sparking His Love for The Philadelphia Eagles as their #1 Football Fan!

Hernando accepted Christ at an early age. Upon moving to Dallas, TX, he attended Woodbine Church Of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Albert Byrd and later on attended Deliverance Tabernacle where he ministered in song. Mendoza was known for his big heart, Smile and voice. During his young adulthood, he began to minister in song at many churches and he was a faithful member of Several local groups such as the “Truetone Gospelaires”,  “Prophecy” and his hit band known as “Master Piece” where he was the lead singer. Mendoza will forever be remember for his soulful rendition of the Gospel classic “What Is This”!

Mr. Mendoza leaves to Cherish his Loving Memory….

His wife Sybil Palmer of Dallas, His Adoring Mother Artra Buckley of Dallas, TX, His Beautiful Daughters Shalonda (Lindsey) Haggerty Denver, CO, Lashonda Palmer, Ferris, TX, Dominique Bright Dallas TX, and 2 Handsome sons Lantjuan Palmer Ferris TX; Damion Bright, Dallas, TX  and his Sweet grandchildren Brooklyn Haggerty, Charity Rogers, Christian Rogers, Austyn Haggerty, Messiah Bright, and Royal Finley. He also leaves each of his Wonderful 15 siblings and a host of other family and friends who loved him dearly and in whose hearts he will Live On Forever!
