“Where Your Love Still Lives”
I didn’t know silence could be this loud
until the day your voice stopped filling the room.
The house still stands the same,
the chairs still sit where we left them,
but everything feels different
because you are not walking through the door.
They say time heals,
but time only teaches a man
how to carry the weight of missing you.
I miss the little things most—
your laugh breaking the quiet,
the way you said my name
like it was something worth holding onto,
the warmth of your hand
resting in mine without a word.
You were more than my wife.
You were my steady place,
my prayer partner,
my reason to push forward
when the world felt too heavy.
Now I look for you in small places—
in the morning sunlight on the window,
in songs that catch my heart off guard,
in memories that rise
when I least expect them.
And though the world keeps turning,
a part of my heart walks slower now,
because it still walks beside you.
Losing you did not erase our love.
It only changed where it lives.
Now it lives in every memory,
every tear,
every quiet prayer I whisper at night.
And until the day heaven lets me see you again,
I will carry you with me—
not just in grief,
but in gratitude
for the blessing of loving you
for as long as I did.
