In Loving Memory of Bobbie Jeanette Johnson
Bobbie Jeanette Purifoy Johnson was born on November 21, 1956, to Doris J. Massey and McHenry Purifoy, and she passed away on May 16, 2026.
Throughout her life, Bobbie was known for her beautiful smile, joyful laughter, and warm spirit—one that could light up any room. Fun-loving and outgoing, she had a way of making others feel welcome, valued, and loved.
Above all else, Bobbie was a devoted and loving mother. She leaves to cherish her memory her children: Bobby Ray Purifoy, Clemmie Johnson, and Jacob Johnson. She is also reunited in eternal rest with her beloved daughter, Lavandra Purifoy, who preceded her in death and was laid to rest on July 16, 2019.
Bobbie also leaves behind her loving sister, Ruby Hendrix.
Her legacy lives on through her treasured grandchildren: Jarvis Purifoy, Raven Purifoy, Sherrod Purifoy, Lavandra Johnson-Green, Ma’Kyra Johnson, Justyce Johnson, and Car’Laysia Brown. She was further blessed with five beautiful great-grandchildren: Mariah Walker-Purifoy, Alayah Marie Purifoy, Sherrayah Purifoy, Amarri Davis, and Demari Johnson-Davis.
As an aunt, Bobbie was deeply loved and cared for by her devoted nieces, Wakiesha Purifoy and Ebony Purifoy, whose constant support and love meant so much to her.
A wonderful grandmother and the heart of her family, Bobbie cherished time spent with those she loved. Her kindness, strength, laughter, and unconditional love will live on in every life she touched. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains—carried forward through the memories she created and the love she gave so freely.
“Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure.
You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.”
Your hands once held my whole wide sky,
your voice could calm the hardest day.
Now silence sits where lullabies
would turn my fear to light and say—
Go on, my love. I’m near somehow
in every dawn, in every breeze.
I lose you once, but find you now
in all the places my heart sees.
